Be still and know that I am God, I will fight the battle for you. Vengeance is mine, says the Lord. those who trust in the Lord shall never be moved. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers her from them all. The word of the Lord will not return to Him empty but will accomplice the purpose for which He sent them...O let the evil of the wicked come to an end..Depart from me, all you who do iniquity, For the Lord has heard the voice of my weeping..All my enemies will be ashamed and greatly dismayed, They shall turn back, they will suddenly be ashamed...The Lord look down on me and took hold of me, He pulled me out of the deep water and rescued me from my powerful enemy and those who hated me..You destroy those who speak falsehood...Today is the day of my deliverance. You will make my enemies my footstoll...Praise the Lord for Your steadfast love endures forever. Oh that My people would listen to Me..That Israel would walk in My ways. I would quickly subdue her enemies and turn My hands against her adversaries...amen..amen..Lord.

No weapon formed against me shall prosper...Everything works for good for those who love the Lord and for those who are called according to His purpose...You are my defender and protector, You are my God in You I trust...If only you do my will, you will see how I subdue your enemies...Praise the Lord.

Anyone know what giving someone the "a matz" means? I thought it meant to whack someone but in the Sopranos Tony met with little Carmine in Florida and something was mentioned about the possibility of Carmine senior giving him the "a matz" for sticking his beak in.

most of ur stuff is right but a few misteaks. capo di tutti capi does mean boss of all bosses but it's just in one family. there really isnt a number one guy in the "mafia." capo means captin, but a captin is considered a local boss, or boss of his crew which is made up of many "made men" and thier associates. and since their are usually at least three capo's (bosses) in a family, the don/godfather is considered capo di tutti capi because he is literally, "boss of all bosses." the other two things i saw was the for "cosa nosta" you put "this thing IS ours," when its really "this thing OF ours." last, was the word you had for a mafia girlfriend or mistress. you have "comare" which means godmother. i believe the word you want is "goomah." thanks tho, their was a lot u have that i never heard.

@ Jimmy: many things of what you wrote are right, but few others are quite incorrect. "Consigliere" is not the "lawyer" of the mafia Family, but is just the advisor, a person whose judgement and opinions are taken very seriously by the head of the Family. "Va a Fa Napoli" or "VAFFANAPOLI" is a more pc version of "Va a fà in culo" or "VAFFANCULO" ( go and take it up your ass", just like " VAFFANBRODO" and so forth. GABAGOOL (first mentioned in The Godfather pt.1 and not in The Sopranos), is CAPICOLA or CAPICUL' in the Naples' dialect translated in GABAGOOL. Any words you hear in the movies or from a Italian-American is a corruption of Naples' and Sicilian dialect, but it's not the correct italian language. SE SEI ITALIANO, SICURAMENTE SAI BENISSIMO CHE LE PAROLE PRONUNCIATE DAGLI AMERICANI SONO VERSIONI "AMERICANIZZATE" DI SICILIANO E NAPOLETANO. TE LO DICO DA SARDO CHE PARLA L'ITALIANO ALLA PERFEZIONE, VISTO CHE CI VIVO DALLA NASCITA. SALUTONI DALLA SARDEGNA!!!

Consigliere: is the family's lawyer Cosa Nostra: our thing is the proper way to translate Fanabala: This is NOT even a slang word but a made up stupid american translation - "Va Fa Napoli" is the proper saying & it means literally Go To Naples but this saying translated means 'You're A Whore" because Naples is a well known whore district. Fanook: again a wannabe Italian pronounces the word wrong & comes up with this made up word - it's Finocchio period. Gabagool: Another idiotic Soprano made up word that doesn't exist except in the minds of wannabe bozos - Capocollo is the only proper word anything else makes you look like an idiot (Babbo) amongst real Italian people. Oobatz: Again a made up word from mispronunciation - Pazzo means crazy Alot of words are made up BS from hollywood & wannabe morons. The Sopranos lasted 3 weeks on TV in Italy because it was a disgrace to the Italian heritage. The language is ridiculous, stupid & not proper not to mention embarrassing to hear someone talk like this.
