It’s important to begin buying property right away with money that you acquire from doing jobs. This is made even easier by the fact that Mafia Wars makes acquiring properties faster and easier to do at earlier levels. When you first start the game, you earn a free Louie's Deli property for defeating one of the bosses. This property is like a freebie just to get you started in the beginning; all of the other properties need to be purchased. The price of property goes up as you collect them. Properties are a big way to earn easy money. You can get by with fewer properties if you can earn a lot of energy to do jobs and attack or rob other mafia families, but you should really get some sort of steady income that pays you without the need for energy. Owning multiple properties is the answer. First, you need to buy the undeveloped spaces and then you can build on them. You earn income on the undeveloped spaces but nowhere near as much as when you build a property on the space.

Bank Your Money

You can safe guard your money at the bank, but after the bank’s cut, you’ll lose about 10%. Losing it to the bank is a better choice than getting robbed by another Mafia Wars family.

The Hospital

Every now and then you’re bound to get your butt kicked in Mafia Wars. When you’re feeling down and low on health, visit the Hospital to get patched up and back on the streets.

Doing Jobs

Doing jobs earns you money and increases your Mafia Wars level. At lower levels it is much easier to level up. As you advance leveling up becomes more difficult, often requiring special items that you must obtain.

Fighting

Another fun part of playing Mafia Wars is fighting other players. My Mafia Wars tips for fighting include knowing when and when not to initiate a fight. The best strategy is to fight people in the same level as you or lower. Mafia Wars does however, allow you to fight people of a higher level than you, but starting a war with someone of a higher level should pretty much be avoided unless you have been sitting on a single level for quite some time and have a good weapons cache and mafia size.
